I Think I Have Pink Out of My System Now

This is the last of the pink cards I made and have definitely got over my pink phase now(although I do love the vase and even the lovely shiny flowers have shown up in this photo - maybe my photography is improving). I didn't mean to make this card I went into my craft room to clean it up (actually its the dining room that I have taken over - when you have 4 kids and all their animals living at home there isn't much spare space). As you can see I am a very messy worker but I got sidetracked and had this idea to put the flowers in a vase hence the card above.
I did continue to clean up after though and you can even see the desk (converted trestle table) aftera bit of a clean up. You can also see the fabulous container my father in law (who is 86) made for me. It fits my ink pad, re-inkers and wheels as well as a shelf for glues etc on top. There is still a little bit of mess on the floor to tackle (I should have cropped the photo a little better and you would never have known)

Continuing the tour around the converted dining room you can see we have put a set of shelves in which my daughter has labelled with the dymo(I think she has dymo nearly everything in the room) and all my stampin up stamp sets are in an office works CD storage unit bolted down sideways (its not perfect but it does the job) and once again my trusty assistant has labelled them all and put them in alphabetical order.
My husband has helped too he has but a ribbon storage thingy (I don't really know what its proper name is) which we have attached to the other table which my father in law made for me back in my quilting days (not a quilt has been made unfortunately since the card bug has bitten).

So the room is almost tidy and a card was made as well so everyone was happy - how long it stays tidy for I don't know!!!

Another Pink and Pretty Card

I have been making a few cards with this lovely set and all in pink which is very surprising as I am not a pink person normally, but I think with Spring around the corner and lots of blossom everywhere it has inspired me to do some cards in Pretty in Pink. The flowers have been stamped twice and had Crystal Effects on them so they are all lovely and shiny (which as usual due to my wonderful photography skills you can't see)

Stamps: Soft Summer, Oval All

Card: Pretty in Pink Pink Pirouette and Whisper White

Ink: Stazon and Regal Rose

DSP: Candy Lane

Accessories: Markers, Crystal Effects, Pearls from Pretties Kit

The Works

This card has a bit of everything in it and I just love how this card turned out. I was at my upliners Sue Madex borrowing ribbon yet again yesterday and she was showing me all the lovely swap cards from the Incentive Trip she went on. A couple of cards used flowers that had a double image which I thought looked great so I had to make one and try it out.

As with most of my cards they start off simple and then I keep adding layers. I thought I would do the flower through a window so when you open the card you have this lovely 3D flower

I had my daughter Rebecca on the job here she is both holding and photographing the picture as you all know my photography skills are not the best so she has taken lots of photos from all different angles. After doing the flower I thought it needed a bit of a lift so I put Crystal Effects on the flower and before it dried I added a bit of chunky glitter in the middle. (Oops there is still a little bit of pencil mark left) I definitely had to use the Stamp-A-Ma-jig(who thinks up these names) to get this positioned in the middle of the window.

Then I thought the front needed something extra so out came the punches. First the round punch and the scallop circle punch for around the window, then came the oval punch and the scallop oval punch for around the stamp "Fabulous Friends from the Oval All set. I actually coloured that little flower in with my markers and put Crystal Effects on that as well.

Next came the Eyelet Punch along with Pink Pirouette cardstock and some ribbon and the beautiful Bella Rose DSP. A very pretty card for someone special.

Mojo Monday 101

Well its Mojo Monday time again and this time I thought I would go with a bit more of a masculine theme - Father's Day is not that far away or maybe a card for the man in your life. I having been using this Bella Bleu paper a bit lately it is so versatile
Cardstock: Going Grey Basic Grey Night of Navy
Stamps: Friends 24-7 Sanded Occasional Greetings
Ink: Brocade Blue Close to Cocoa
DSP: Bella Bleu

Fresh Cuts

This Fresh Cuts stamp is such a versatile stamp it can be used either directly on to a card as in the picture shown or with one of the lovely fresh cut notes (which have the pre cut flower)

In this card I have teamed up the in colours Kiwi Kiss and Tangerine Tango with Chocolate Chip which gives a nice autumn feel(I should really be doing spring colours as everyone is looking forward to Spring now). The punches that co-ordinate together just give that great finish for the greeting used on the card. The new oval scallop punch could also have been used instead.

Busy busy week

It has been a busy week with the last of the cupcake glitter classes on this week. So I thought I would just do a quick post on one of the cards I haven't yet posted to my blog, but those who have been to classes will have seen this card. If you like the Australian native flowers this is the card for you. The new Bloom Away set in the current catalogue has stamps of the waratahm gum and banksia flowers.

This set gives you a chance to break out the watercolours and have a play with different colour combinations. I must admit I did a google on the flowers to make sure I had the right shades and wasn't getting my flowers mixed up - it wouldn't do to show our aussie flowers in the wrong colours would it.

I did have a play with my nestabilities to get the embossing around the edges and the different shapes and I was quite happy with the result. I have been using my cuttlebug a bit lately I wish Stampin Up would bring the Big Shot to Australia. Hopefully next year.

Mojo Monday 100

This is my Mojo Monday 100 card I thought I would give it a Christmas theme (I know it is only August) - but I didn't think I would end up with quite so many layers in it. Mojo Monday is a great idea if you are ever stuck with what to do for a card just follow the layout and the card is done in no time at all (except if you keep adding dimensionals between every layer).
Stamps: Christmas Classics, Punches Three
Card: Riding Hood Red and Old Olive
DSP: Ski Slope
Accessories: Gold Embossing Powder, Versamark and lots of dimensionals

Cheers To You

The Cheers To You is a lovely little set that is great for any age group. In this card I have used the In Colours: Tangerine Tango, Kiwi Kiss and Pacific Point. The images were stamped with Stazon and then coloured with the Watercolour Crayons. In the first card I stamped just the Cheers part of the Cheers To You stamp

This second card uses the ripped look - which is either a look you really like or really don't like. The comments are usually I love using the paper ripped like that or alternatively I get - I never do that ripped look it just doesn't appeal to me. So if you do this is the card for you if you don't the card above is the card for you.

Decorated Technique Book

Lots of ladies have been doing their technique books and some are starting to decorate them, lots of different ways to do it - Moira has chosen lots of ribbons along the side which just look fantastic, the colours complement each other so well. With some lovely paper and ric rac the overall result is really pretty (my photography doesn't do it justice)

The Pink Version of the Cupcake Store

This is the pink version and a very popular card with the ladies this month. The cake inside looks lovely with the three different colours of glitter, we also added more glitter to some (gold for the flame etc). This was one done on Pretty in Pink with the beautiful Candy Lane DSP and of course lots and lots of glitter!

Pop Up Glitter Cupcake

We have been having fun with more glitter in class this week with our pop up cupcake card. It is so cute when you open it up and a little cupcake pops up. We did a pink and a blue version ( there are more pink versions being made I think little pink cupcakes must be a bit of a favourite with lots of people). My daughter even did the class just to make a cupcake card (pink of course) to send to her friend - so they must have been a bit of a hit.

August Classes

The first class for August had lots of fun with the tri fold card and found out it wasn't nearly as hard as it looks. The card pictured here is one I made for a friends birthday and has a bit more decoration than the one we did in class, that is the fun of it you can decorate the card as much or as little as you like. (There are still a couple of places left for this month just check on the side bar to check dates).
One of the class ladies (Liz) even brought along some show and tell - she has been bitten by the napkin transfer bug (you can't go into a shop without sizing up all the napkins to see if they are suitable to go onto a card - a few of us are getting quite a big stash of napkins)

The colours in these napkins are really striking and what a quick and easy way to whip up two very different cards. Hopefully this will encourage other ladies to bring along some show and tell.

More on the New Mini Catalogue

I have been having a bit of a play with the new set from the Mini Catalogue - Season's Surfin. This set is certainly different from your traditional Christmas set, so for all you sun bronzed aussies this might be the set for you. I have also used the new DSP paper Ski Slope.
These are very quick and easy cards I embossed the surfin Father Christmas with white embossing powder and punched it out with the circle punch and then used Whisper White punched with the scallop punch to set it off.

Glitter classes this month

The glitter and glue technique that we will be doing with our pop up card was used on this card. It gives the image a raised look which is very effective for highlighting clothing or flowers. There are still a couple of places left in this month's classes if you want to try out this technique (and the tri fold card as well). Class times and my contact details are on the side bar of the blog.

Stamps: For the Bride

Cardstock: Rose Red and Satiny White (not a Stampin Up Cardstock)

Accessories: Cuttlebug and glitter

More Butterflies

I love the butterflies in the Good Friends set and the paper from the new Mini Catalogue Parisian Breeze has such beautiful colours in it. When I made my card for the Mojo Monday challenge I used some of the other sheets from this set and so while I had it all out I thought I would make another card with these sheets. The butterflies have even more glitter than before (if that is possible).
Stamps: Good Friends, Oval All
Paper: Baja Breeze, Kraft and Parisian Breeze
Inks: Baja Breeze, Creamy Caramel and Versamark
Accessories: Punches, Heat and Stick, Dazzling Diamonds

Classes for August

One of the cards we will be doing in class this month is the tri-fold card, you can choose either to do a pink version or a blue version - depending on whether you are pink or blue person. If you are interested there are a couple of places left, check out the times on the side bar of my blog and give me a call or email me if you are interested

Mojo Monday

Well it is Monday again and this weeks challenge is another great one. This time I used the new DSP paper from Stampin Up called Parisian Breeze, it is a lovely textured card and the colours are beautiful. I think I must be starting to like blue as my favourite colour a lot of my cards lately are blue.

You can just see that the butterflies are sparkly, but in real life they are beautiful as they are completely covered in dazzling diamonds.

Stamps: Great Friend

Card: Baja Breeze, Parisian Breeze Specialty Creamy Caramel

Ink: Baja Breeze, Creamy Caramel

Accessories: Dazzling Diamonds, Heat and Set, Baja Breeze Ribbon

I Just Love Michelle Zindorfs cards

I have wanted to make one of Michelle's cards for a long time she is so talented and shares her cards with the most wonderful tutorials. I have put a link to Michelle's tutorial that I used to make this card, thanks Michelle for all your great tutorials.
Stamps: A Wish for Peace, Baroque Motifs
Card: Chocolate Chip, Old Olive and Whisper White
Ink: Old Olive, Versamark Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Chocolate Chip Marker, Clear Embossing Powder

We were trying to get the card on an angle so that you could see the embossed tree and yet another one of my helpers came to my assistance. This is Issey my eldest daughter's dog, she likes to be where the action is as well. I thought now that my children are older it would be easier, but I think the animals have now taken their place and I still can't leave anything around as you don't know what state it might be in when you come back

A Sense of Time

Once I got playing with this set that was the end of the housework for today - oh well it will still be there tomorrow. I love the Kraft and Night of Navy together and I think it makes a great man's card. I hadn't used my crimper for a while so I had a little play with that as well and added the triangle panel just as something different:

Stamps: Sense of Time, Oval All, En Francais
Paper: Night of Navy, Kraft and Very Vanilla
Ink: Night of Navy and Creamy Caramel
Accessories: Brads and Crimper
