Mojo Monday 168

This weeks Mojo Monday Sketch is:
This is my card from this weeks design:

I have used both silver and white embossing powder on both the main image and on the greeting and combined this with Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White card.  The effect is quite striking in reality but the photography doesn't quite convey that. Just look at that bow - after about 10 efforts I was happy with the finished look.  For the main image I embossed the tree again in silver and white and cut it out and then I added it on with dimensionals, I did the same with the little bauble in the greeting and added some little pearls to it:

  1. Beautiful card!! How do you control where each color of embossing powder goes when using two colors like this? Seems like it would be impossible to get one color just on the "O" in the word "joy" like you did. Is there a tutorial on this technique to check out? Thanks for sharing your card!

  2. Thanks for your lovely comments, the O has been done separately in silver and cut out, The tree was done with random sprinkling of silver then white. It does waste a bit of embossing powder as it all mixes together when you brush it off, but I like the effect

  4. This is so beautiful Sue - the bow is perfect - have always admired that stamp set - really should have bought it but nevermind - perhaps if we still have it next year I will add it to my collection.

  7. Sorry so slow to be getting back to you, but I wanted to thank you for explaining about your embossing technique. I'm probably too frugal to feel like I'm "losing" embossing powder, but again, your card is beautiful and I really love the look of the technique!! Maybe I'll break my frugal rules and try it sometime. Thanks so much for sharing!!
