Mojo Monday and Pals Paper Art

This card is for both the Mojo Monday for week 179 and Pals Paper Art No 82

For this weeks card I used my brayer to create the blue sky and the green at the bottom of the picture.  I embossed the image onto the card to give it that little bit extra shine.  The DSP is from the Soft Subtles book of papers.  There are so many wonderful designs in the book it was hard to decide which ones to use. To do the circle with the scallop trim border I cut a long piece of basic black punched the scallop and then cut about every 1cm along the strip so it would bend into the circle shape ( a little bit tricky but it gives a nice finish) For the actual circles I used the SU Circle Cutter

A quick peek at the inside I have added a similar border to the front and embossed a few of the daisies in the corner.

More Brayer Cards

As we have been doing Brayer cards at class this month I just have a couple more cards to share with you.
Once again I have used Cameo Coral and Black Cardstock, the background has been brayered onto glossy cardstock and stamped with stamps from Inspired by Nature and Garden Whimsy.
I often don't put a greeting on the card as most cards can be used as Thankyou or Birthday etc so I can put the greeting on when I am ready to use it.



This card has been made with one of the new In Colours - Tangerine Tango and black (again!!)

The front was first stamped with Versamark using the Upsy Daisy Stamp and then it has just been brayered with Tangerine Tango on the glossy cardstock. I haven't worried that the distribution is a little uneven as I am trying to get that misty look (well that's the look I decided it was going to be when it didn't brayer on all that evenly!!) After that was done I stamped over the top with Tangerine Tango a couple of times.

Card Swap

This card which I did for the Card Swap looks a bit more vibrant in real life as Kiwi Kiss and Black go together so well, but is very quick and easy to do.

The card stock that were used: Kiwi Kiss and Black (I used the Scallop Punch on the bottom of the Black card)

DSP is Urban Garden which has to be one of my favourites, I have used it in so many of my cards.

The Stampsets used were: Upsy Daisy (another one of my favourites that I have used for lots of cards) and Short and Sweet.

Ribbon: 1/4" Basic Black

Brayer Classes

This month's classes will be doing Brayer Resist in the lovely Taken with Teal colours. The second card will be using a Brayer and two colours which gives that lovely dusky glow to the card. The third card will be using the Reflection technique which I have seen on a number of sites and nearly everyone uses the very popular "Lovely as a tree" stamp set. Card Swaps

These are a couple of cards I submitted to a card swap. I will post some more later in the week

The main cardstock used was Cameo Coral with a touch of black to offset it. The stamp set used was Pocket Silhouettes and the ink colour Cameo Coral. The thanks so much is from the same set and was stamped with Cameo Coral

The background has been done with the crimper to add that little but of difference to the card.


The second card used the Upsy Daisy Stampset to stamp the background with black and whisper white ink on Baja Breeze cardstock. This was then matted with black cardstock and some black ribbon tied around to offset it.

The top layer is Urban Garden DSP matted again with black cardstock. The thankyou is from the Short and Sweet Set and was stamped with black ink. The base card that was used was Baja Breeze.

I am looking forward to getting my swaps and lots of new ideas for cards, which I can then share with you.

More on the June Classes

Another technique we are looking at this month is faux embossing. This technique works well with any solid stamp such as "Inspired by Nature " or Upsy Daisy. It was an introduction to the Stamp A Ma Jig for a few people, and after a few tries everyone managed to come up with a lovely card using the Upsy Daisy Stamp.
