Razzle Dazzle

What a fabulous set is Razzle Dazzle in the new summer mini. I am trying different non Christmas colours with the stamp sets from the new summer mini. For this card I have used Taken with Teal teamed with Whisper White. I have punched  the butterfly with the new butterfly punch and then stamped the butterfly stamp from the Butterfly Prints which I embossed with white embossing powder.

For the centre piece I used the scallop border punch to add a little bit of interest to the centre greeting from the Best Yet set.

Christmas Colour No 5 and 6

Both these cards are made with the more traditional Christmas colours - the base card in both being ruby red.

The first card is made with Sweet Slumber DSP and the little elves were embossed in black and coloured with my markers and then I added a border in Baja Breeze with the Square Scallop punch. I added some bling with the lovely crystal brads SU have and some ribbon which I split in half (I didn't have any fraycheck so I just put Crystal Effects on the very edge to stop the fraying (you can use that Crystal Effects for so many things) to finish off the effect

The second card I have again used the Sweet Slumber DSP and and picked out the blue from the paper and matted my elves on Baja Blue and used the Aquapainters to create a blue background behind them. In this card I embossed the elves with black embossing powder before colouring them in and when you compare it with the second card you can see how much better it stands out. What you can't see very well in the second card is that I have stamped the image on the Ski Slope DSP and cut out some of their hats and collars, the hats are not stuck down completely so there is a bit of a 3D effect which looks great. (I have just purchased Photoshop and the tutorial to go with it maybe that might help improve the photos and I am also asking Santa for a new camera - so if the pictures don't improve I won't be able to blame anyone but me!!!!)

Christmas Colour No2

For the second card using holiday lineup I am using a blue theme, which my eldest daughter immediately said is much more to her taste than the Yukky purple one from yesterday (you can't please everyone). I stamped the stars from the Snow Swirled set in Bashful Blue and Pacific Point for the background, on Bashful Blue cardstock.  The main card is Pacific Point and the Holiday Lineup snowman is stamped on Whisper White and matted on Pacific Point. I love the Scallop Oval punch I have been using that a lot lately teamed with the sentiments in the Best Yet stamp set which is a Level 1 Hostess set .

I used the Aquapainter with both the Watercolour Crayons and the inkpads to colour in my snowmen

Christmas Colour No 1

I had done a series of cards using this set and thought I would try using different colours every day along with one of the stamps from this set. My daughters all love very different colours so each one dresses and buys items in a certain colour range.  When my daughter saw these cards she said - "That's a very Rebecca card" which it is she loves purples and oranges (yuk do I hear you say?) so that is the focus on this card. With the background stamp (dots) and the scallop punches and some brads along with some dimensionals and a little bit of aquapainting would come up okay.

Mojo Monday Time Again

Its Mojo Monday time and another different layout for us to try. I thought as we are now into October and lots of my ladies are turning their thoughts to Christmas Cards (I don't want to know how many weeks are left until Christmas - whatever it is it won't be enough)

Lots of different things used in this card. I started off with Real Red Card Stock and stamped my Father Christmas from the Holly Jolly Christmas set. To make him stand out more I versamarked his coat and put a layer of clear embossing powder on it which looks great in real life but hasn't shown up one little bit in the photograph - I took several photos and the ones where it did show up made it look all patchy (lol, the bad photographer at work). The snow flakes are stamped from the Snow Swirled set in Real Red and Old Olive.

Behind that I cut one long strip of Old Olive cardstock punched it with the Scallop Punch and then ran it through the Crimper, I then eased it around the circle - it was just long enough.

Below that is a strip of real red run through the crimper.

Under that is Ski Slope DSP matted on real red card stock above and below the rectangles are three gold brads (they could be any colour the colour seems to be washed out in the photo)

The last layer is a piece of DSP paper from the Haiku set. I finished it off with Merry Christmas from the Best Yet set (level 1 Hostess) stamped with Real Red on Whisper white and punched with the oval punch and matted on real red punched with the scallop oval punch.

Faux Suede and Faux Alligator Purse Card

There's lots of faux in this post today. The first faux is the faux suede from Splitcoast Stamper Monday Tutorial. The purse is made of faux suede using this technique and chocolate chip card. The faux alligator skin is a technique that Jackie Topa did on her blog. It is so easy and so effective. The inside is lined with Bella Bleu paper and the front has a pearl from the pretties kit on it .

Mojo Monday 106

This is the sketch for this weeks Mojo Monday I don't know how they keep coming up with all these different ideas, but I found it gives you a great starting point for your card. All you have to do is decide on the colours (and the bling if you are that way inclined which we all know that I am).

So this is my Mojo Monday card. I used the lovely Bella Rose paper and teamed it with Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red and Whisper White card. The only stamp I used was the "So Glad we're friends" from the Best Yet set, which is a Hostess Level 1 set. This was stamped in Riding Hood Red. The flowers I cheated a little bit and just cut them out from the Bella Rose paper (very quick and easy). The last thing I added was some ribbon - and there is my Mojo Monday card (and it is only Thursday!!!)
