Paper Players

This is my version of the challenge

I have embossed the background with alfoil using the Elegant Bouquet Folder (it doesn't show up all that well in the photo unfortunately).  All the flowers have been embossed with black embossing powder so they are more striking with the glossy black on the silver metallic card.

Card for 118 Years

I bet that got your attention. A friend asked for a card for a party she is going to they are celebrating 118 years (the wife if 50 this year, the husband is 50 also and they have been married for 18 years).

The present is a big bottle of champagne, so when I was at Paperific on the weekend they had these wine totes, and I thought that is just the thing to go with my card. So I took it home covered it in the lovely silver SU metallic cardstock and some black (the inside is all in silver too), because the wine tote is taller than the card stock I had to join it in the middle and run a little fancy band around.  Then I stamped and embossed some black and white flowers from the Eastern Blooms set and cut them all out to decorate the card and the wine tote. I know I could have made a bag but the bottle of wine fitted perfectly in here and I would worry that the bag might not be strong enough.

Monday Technique on Splitcoast

This weeks technique on Splitcoast is foil embossing. So you just get out that roll of silverfoil and if you have a cuttlebug or bigshot you run one of the patterned folders through to get this lovely effect. At the last show I even saw them running the folders through a pasta machine to get the same result!!! Apart from the silverfoil I have used the Metallic silver cardstock and matted each of the panels on black cardstock. The flowers were stamped (from Eastern Blooms) and embossed with Black embossing powder and cut out. The ribbon is Old Olive;. Splitcoast New Technique Monday

Every Monday on Splitcoast they have a new technique to try out. This Monday it was make your own button. All you need is some Cardstock or in this card I punched out (with the 1/2 inch and 1/4 inch circle punch) Bella Rose DSP and layered it with 5 layers of cardstock. Some of the examples in the gallery are great so have a look around at Splitcoast they have some wonderful ideas.
