More on the June Classes
Another technique we are looking at this month is faux embossing. This technique works well with any solid stamp such as "Inspired by Nature " or Upsy Daisy. It was an introduction to the Stamp A Ma Jig for a few people, and after a few tries everyone managed to come up with a lovely card using the Upsy Daisy Stamp. There are a few places in Thursdays classes both afternoon and night, so if you are interested come along a try out a new technique. See the side box on classes for contact details.

Wee Hours of the Morning
So what do you do when you can't sleep - you make cards of course.
It reminds me of my patchworking days, but now instead of cutting up material I am cutting up little bits of paper. So don't throw out those little scrap pieces you never know what they can be used for .

And then if you still can't sleep you make another card!!!

Glitter and Lots of It
Everyone who comes to my classes knows I love glitter and try to incorporate it into every card in some way. The chunky glitter is great on big stamps such as the bird in the Good Friend Set. When combined with the new In Colours it is really effective and has the wow factor.
Stamp Set: Good Friends
Cardstock: Pacific Point and Tangerine Tango
Ink Pads: Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango, Basic Brown
Accessories: Chunky Glitter

I like cards with a combination of red and black so I thought I would show you one I did for a friend just recently. The spiral punch just adds that little bit extra to the card.

I wanted to try out one of these view master cards I saw on the internet a long time ago and use the carousel notes. You just keep turning the wheel on the right and different images keep appearing.
Unfortunately I haven't got any of the new colours, but after making a couple I will have to put an order in and and try them in Riding Hood Red or Kiwi Kiss - how great would they look.
Stamp Set: A Flower for all Seasons
Colours: Groovy Guava and Soft Sky(both retired)

Even More Napkins
More napkin transfers - I seem to have collected several more packets of napkins in the last couple of days and they all have to be trialled on a card. I will have to stop looking in stores or I will end up with a supply of napkins to last a lifetime. It is pretty bad when even my children start coming home with packets of napkins to try. It really is contagious.
The first class gets to try it out this Thursday I will let you know if they get hooked as well.

June Classes
For the June classes we will be doing Napkin Transfer Crayon Resist and Faux Embossing. I will never look at a Napkin the same ever again. Every time I walk into a shop that sells paper napkins I check them out to see if they are suitable for making cards, I think I have bought about 8 packets of napkins so far. Forget about the boring plain old ones, they have to have lots of colour and be suitable to cut up into nice shapes. The options are endless. I have taken pictures of a few of the ones I have made so far - it certainly is a bit addictive. So come along and try it out yourself, I have listed the class times on the tab on the right of the blog so if you are interested just contact me.

My New Blog
Well I think I must be the last one in my team to finally get around to doing this blogging thing. Better late than never is the motto. I just wanted to show you a few of the cards we have made in the May classes. Everyone went home with lots and lots of glitter all over them and with some very lovely cards as well.

We also did some lovely crimped cards (using my new crimper). Well the card isn't crimped the envelope is! The card and the envelope are decorated in a matching theme.
Gone a bit mad with the crimper this month I also did some lovely thankyou cards that went out with my orders for last month. The photography is not great (have to blame the photographer for that - photography has never been my strength, always left it to hubby to do. Will have to smarten up my act and get a bit more practice)
